Choosing the Wood
The logs I use are already cut trees that have been discarded from logging operations. I salvage the logs that would usually be thrown out.

Carving the Logs
Logs are dried out for 2-3 years before they are used for carving. After roughing out the piece with a chainsaw, a variety of electric tools and sanders are used. The finish used it polyureathane and marine sparvarnish.

Caring for the Sculptures
Sculptures that are left outside may require a new coat of varnish in a year or two, if exposed to the elements for long periods of time. Indoor pieces should be kept at moderate temperatures away from direct heat sources.
